Take the Railjet to Bozen, change to regional train to Merano, then bus 201. Book early on oebb.at for €19 fares; the Brenner Pass views are best on the right side.

The 201 bus is a scenic hairpin route down to Merano. Buy a 24-hour Südtirol Pass at the tabacchi in Vöran for unlimited bus rides.
