Things to Do in Vinh

Street market open Friday to Sunday evenings, selling local snacks, clothes, and souvenirs. Live music sometimes plays near the main intersection.

Remains of the 19th-century Nguyễn dynasty fortress. You can walk the surviving walls and moat, with views over the city.

💡 Combine with a walk along the nearby Lam River embankment at sunset. The citadel gates are unmarked; enter through the east side.

💡 The food stall opposite the park entrance sells bánh mì for 5,000 VND – one of the cheapest lunches in town.

Museum complex dedicated to Emperor Quang Trung, with a large garden and temple. Displays include weapons, ceramics, and folk art from the Tay Son era.

💡 Go early morning to see locals exercising in the grounds. The on-site temple is still active, so dress modestly.
