Deeper Into Prachuap Khiri Khan
A functioning temple with an enormous seated Buddha statue visible from afar. The main hall has detailed murals showing local history. Grounds are peaceful and well-kept.
🕐 Daily, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
💡 Walk behind the main Buddha to see a small cave shrine with a footprint relic. Offerings of lotus flowers can be bought for 10 Baht at the temple gate.
A steep but short limestone hill climb just north of town. Steps cut into the rock lead to a large hole in the peak that frames views of the bay. Expect a 20-minute climb with some exposed sections.
🕐 Daily, 24 hours
💡 Climb just before sunset for the best light. Mosquitoes swarm near the top at dawn, so bring repellent if you go early.

Getting Around Prachuap Khiri Khan
Flag down a red songthaew on the main road – the route runs north-south along Phetkasem. Tell the driver 'Araya Resort' or show a map. If they ask for more than 20 THB, negotiate. After 6pm, motorbike taxis are your best bet – 40 THB flat rate.
Book a fixed-price taxi at the official airport counter on level 1. Ignore touts outside. Ask driver to use Highway 4 (Phetkasem Road) – it's the most direct route.
Buy third-class ticket at the window – it's dirt cheap and fine. Sit on the right-hand side for sea views. Get off at Prachuap Khiri Khan station, then walk or take a motorbike taxi (20 THB) south for 1 km to the resort. Trains run punctually by Thai standards.
Take the Bell Travel bus from the airport to Hua Hin (about 3.5 hours, 200 THB). From Hua Hin bus station, take a green songthaew heading south on Phetkasem Road – drivers know the resort. Tells the songthaew driver 'Araya Resort' – it's just past the police checkpoint.
