Midday

CTB Bus – Colombo to Polonnaruwa From 400 LKR 360 min

Ac buses are pricier (700–900 LKR) but worth it for the AC and comfier seats. Get off at the Polonnaruwa New Town stop, then take a tuk-tuk (200 LKR) to Clay Hut Village—it's 3 km east of the town centre.

Local Tuk-Tuk for Ruins & Town From 400 LKR 15 min

Colombo Fort to Polonnaruwa (via Batticaloa line) From 500 LKR 330 min
