Getting Around Nagercoil
Catch bus #913 or #915 from platform 3 for the most direct route. These buses are air-conditioned and stop only at major junctions—avoid the ordinary service which takes twice as long. From the Old Bus Stand, auto to Hotel Tamilnadu is ₹50 and takes 10 minutes.
Pre-book an Ambassador or Indica from the prepaid counter inside arrivals to avoid surge pricing. The NH66 route is generally smooth but can get slow near Kaliyikkavila; ask the driver to use the bypass if traffic is heavy.
Take the 06701 passenger train at 08:15—it’s ₹45 and reaches Nagercoil Junction in 75 minutes with local stops. The railway station is 4 km from the hotel; shared autos to the town square cost ₹30 per person. Reserve a seat in an unreserved compartment if you have luggage.
Don't pay more than ₹50—confirm the fare before getting in. Drivers usually stop near the clock tower, and the hotel is a two-minute walk from there. For shorter trips within town, flag down a shared auto (₹10 per head) rather than a private one.
