Things to Do in Lampang

A nightly walking street along a preserved teak shophouse lane. Stalls sells local snacks, vintage clothes, and handicrafts, with live music at the central square.

A 1920s iron railway bridge over the Wang River, now pedestrian-only. Painted bright red, it’s a popular spot for photos and river views.

💡 Line up your shot from the riverbank just downstream—you get both the bridge and the old Wat Si Chum temple in the background.

A 15th-century temple that once housed the Emerald Buddha. The main chedi is in Burmese style, and the grounds contain a museum with Lanna artefacts.

💡 Visit late afternoon—the light on the white chedi is best, and crowds thin out. The museum asks for a small donation but entrance to the temple grounds is free.

Showcases hundreds of years of Lampang's famous chicken-bowl ceramics, with a working kiln and a garden full of life-size ceramic animals.
