Things to Do in Kendari

A narrow strip of dark sand along the bay, popular for evening strolls. Rows of food stalls sell local snacks like pisang goreng (fried banana) and es campur (mixed ice dessert). Benches and shaded areas available.

A 15-hectare conservation area with elevated wooden boardwalks through dense mangrove trees. You can spot monkeys, crabs, and various bird species. The canopy walk gives good views over the bay.

A small but refreshing waterfall about 7 km from town. The pool is shallow enough for wading. Surrounded by jungle; the sound of birds and cicadas is constant. A concrete path leads most of the way.
