Things to Do in Dampe

Lakeside public garden with walking paths, benches, and a small bird-watching hide. Good for picnics and sunset views.

💡 Bring mosquito repellent especially from dusk. The fruit stall near the main gate sells king coconuts for 50 LKR. Park is floodlit until 10pm.

Small museum in a restored British bungalow. Displays local archaeology, traditional masks, and colonial-era photographs.

💡 Entry is free but they appreciate a 100–200 LKR donation. Ask the caretaker to show the postcard collection archive in the back room.

Ancient Buddhist temple complex with ruins of a stupa and image house. Carved moonstones and guard stones date back to the 6th century.
