Getting Around Barddhaman
Barddhaman has no tram system. The nearest tram routes are in Kolkata. Stick to trains or taxis for city-to-city travel.
Book a prepaid taxi from the airport counter to avoid haggling. The drive via NH19 is direct but can be slow during peak hours—leave before 8am or after 8pm.
Get off at Barddhaman Junction, then take an autorickshaw (₹30–₹50) to JU North Block. Avoid the EMU trains during 9am–11am and 5pm–7pm—they're crammed. Splurge on a reserved chair car (₹150) for a seat.
