💡 Combined ticket (3€) if you also want the Museum of Angra next door, but the church alone is free and often empty. Visit mid-morning for best light on the tiles.

A volcanic peninsula that forms a natural harbour. Walk the ramparts of the 16th-century Fort of São João Baptista, with open views across the city and ocean.

💡 The full circuit of the fort walls takes about 90 minutes. Go in the late afternoon for cooler light and fewer crowds.
