Khabur River Riverside Walk

A flat, paved path following the east bank of the Khabur River. Benches and shade trees line the route. Good for an afternoon stroll or watching fishermen cast nets.

💡 Best visited just before sunset – the light is beautiful and it’s cooler. Look out for the old stone bridge remains further downstream.

Zaxo Citadel Ruins

Remains of an ancient fortress on a low hill east of the town. Only a few wall sections and a dry moat survive, but it gives a sense of Zaxo’s strategic past.

💡 The site is unguarded and unmarked. Park by the water tower and walk up. Watch your step – there are loose stones and occasional thorn bushes.
