Getting Around Torquay

Avalon Airport Taxi From 110 45 min

Book with Melton Taxis or Geelong Maxi Taxi for fixed-rate quotes—metered rides can run higher. Ride-share like Uber is sometimes cheaper but less reliable late at night.

V/Line Coach + 53 Bus From 25 115 min

Take the Geelong-bound V/Line coach from Southern Cross, alight at Geelong station. Then catch the 53 bus (Torquay via Surf Coast Hwy) to the 'Torquay Hotel' stop on Bell Street. The coach leg is the crowded one; get a seat early.

Geelong Taxi from Train From 35 20 min

Train from Melbourne to Geelong is cheaper than a full taxi from Avalon—about $11 for the train (V/Line) then this cab. The train runs every 20–30 minutes peak, hourly off-peak. Pre-book the cab if you’re arriving on the last service.

McHarry’s Bus Route 55 From 6 35 min

Local buses don’t run past 9 PM, and Sundays are sparse. Route 55 drops you on Torquay’s main road (Bell Street). Buy a Myki card from any 7-Eleven in Geelong to avoid paper ticket surcharges.
