Things to Do in Thanh Hoa

Central park with a pond, exercise equipment, and shady benches. Locals do tai chi at dawn and badminton at dusk. A calm spot to sit and watch city life without any entrance fee.

Riverside morning market selling local produce, livestock, and prepared food. Nothing touristy—just real trade and fish from the river. Best for seeing daily life and eating cheap breakfast pho or banh cuon.

💡 Go before 8am when it peaks. Try banh gai (sticky rice cake with black sesame) from the old woman at the north gate—under 5,000 VND.

Historic bridge from the Vietnam War, bombed repeatedly but still standing. Walk across for views of the Ma River and hills. The nearby martyr cemetery and old French train station add context.

Ruins of the 15th-century Le Dynasty citadel, set in a forested valley. The stone foundation, moats, and restored temple are free to walk. The site is large—allow two hours to see the main structures.
