Getting Around Sicuani

Private transfer from Alejandro Velasco Astete International Airport (CUZ) From 120 PEN 150 min

Request a driver who knows the route to Sicuani well – some take the faster but bumpier dirt shortcut through Ccatcca. Stick to the paved highway if you're prone to car sickness. Agree on price before departure.

Minibus from Cusco to Sicuani (via Santiago terminal) From 15 PEN 180 min

Catch a 'Sicuani directo' minibus – they skip Urcos and save 30 minutes. Vendors sell coca tea at the terminal, grab one for the altitude drop on the way. Get off at the roundabout with the statue of Túpac Amaru, then walk east two blocks.

Local colectivo (shared taxi) from Sicuani centre From 2 PEN 5 min

These are old station wagons with fixed routes – hail one from the plaza by shouting 'Casa Blanca, por el mercado'. They drop you right outside the hostel's side gate. Have small change ready; drivers rarely break 20 soles.

Sicuani in-town taxi (moto-taxi or car) From 3 PEN 5 min

Moto-taxis (three-wheelers) are cheaper but bumpy. Agree on a flat fare before you get in – the standard within town is 3–4 soles. The hostel's address is Jirón 2 de Mayo 345, tell the driver 'frente al mercado San José' for easier navigation.
