Deeper Into Sapporo

Nakajima Park

A peaceful park with a large pond, walking paths and several historic buildings including the Hoheikan — a wooden Western-style guesthouse from the Meiji era.

💡 Enter from the south side near the Hoheikan to avoid the crowds; you can see the house's exterior for free any time.

Sapporo Beer Museum

A red-brick building tracing the history of Japan's oldest beer brand. Free entry to the museum, though tastings cost extra.

Sapporo TV Tower Observation Deck

A 90-metre tower in Odori Park with an outdoor observation deck. Tickets are cheap — ¥720 for adults — and offer a clear view over the city grid.

💡 Go just before sunset for the best light, and stay 20 minutes to watch the city lights come on. Queues are shortest on weekday late afternoons.

Getting Around Sapporo

Hokkaido Chuo Bus (Airport Limousine) From 1100 70 min

From the main bus stop near Sapporo Station, the hotel is about a 15-minute walk north; take the Toho Subway Line from Odori Station if you're carrying heavy luggage.

JR Rapid Airport Express From 1150 37 min

Fastest way into central Sapporo. From Sapporo Station, transfer to the Toho Subway Line (direction: Fukuzumi) and get off at Odori Station — the hotel is an 8-minute walk east.

Airport Taxi (fixed fare) From 13000 60 min

Book through the airport taxi counter for a fixed fare. After 22:00 there's a late-night surcharge. The hotel is on the south side of Odori Park, so tell the driver 'Odori Koen minamigawa' (Odori Park south side).

Sapporo Municipal Subway (Toho Line) From 210 3 min

Take Exit 33 from Odori Station — directly south of the park. The hotel is a 3-minute walk from the exit. A one-day subway pass (520 yen) is worth it if you're doing multiple rides across the city.
