Getting Around San Ramon
From SJO, take bus #400 to Alajuela centro (500 CRC, 15 mins), then direct bus to San Ramón from Alajuela station (Terminal de Autobuses). Get off at the central park in San Ramón – then a 15 min taxi (3000 CRC) to La Catarata. The bus is cramped with luggage.
Easiest if arriving in San José first: buy ticket at the Tracopa counter (cash only). The bus drops you at the San Ramón terminal – walk 2 mins to the park for a taxi. Avoid the last bus (17:00) as it often fills up.
Uber works in San Ramón but not always with drivers nearby – install 'Didiride' for a more reliable local app. Agree fare before getting in if using unmarked cabs.
Use the orange official airport taxis from the booth inside arrivals – they're more reliable than drivers who approach you outside. Negotiate price upfront if not metered; 50,000 CRC is fair to San Ramón.
