Getting Around Samut Songkhram
The scenic route requires two trains: Bangkok Noi to Maha Chai (1 hr), then a ferry across the river to Ban Laem, then a second train to Samut Songkhram (1 hr). Total is 3–4 hours. It's slow, cheap, and photogenic. From the station, walk 10 mins south to The Grace Deluxe Channel.
Book a fixed-rate taxi at the official booth outside arrivals (Level 1, Gate 7). Meter taxis from the rank are cheaper but drivers may refuse the long trip; insist on the meter if you try.
Bus 996 or the air-conditioned 997. Red non-AC buses are dirt cheap but slow. From the terminal, catch a motorbike taxi (30–40 THB, 5 mins) to the hotel, as songthaews stop early. Bring small change.
Minivans leave from the terminal's outer lane. Get there early; they fill up fast. From the Samut Songkhram terminal, take a shared songthaew (20 THB, 15 mins) to The Grace Deluxe Channel on the riverfront. Tell the driver 'Pak Klong Talad' (the local market area).
