Things to Do in Sal Rei

Covered market selling fresh fish, fruit, vegetables and local crafts. A lively spot to see daily life and pick up cheap snacks like mangoes or papayas.

The main town beach, a wide stretch of golden sand with gentle waves. Good for swimming and sunbathing. Plenty of local bars and cafes a few steps back.

A quieter, smaller beach just around the headland from the main town. Sheltered and less crowded. Good for a peaceful swim or picnic.

Small 19th-century chapel perched on a hill near the cemetery. Simple whitewashed exterior with a blue door. Peaceful spot with a view over the town and sea.

The old lighthouse on the northern point of the bay. You can walk right up to it. Views over the ocean and across to the island of Ilhéu de Sal Rei.
