Getting Around Patna

Patna Metro (Phase 1 under construction – not operational yet) From N/A 0

Ignore all apps claiming metro service in Patna today. Only use the East–West corridor for travel along Bailey Road when it opens. For now, stick with taxis or city buses.

Patna–Danapur Local (Passenger train) From ₹10 20 min

Only useful if you’re coming from Danapur or Bakhtiarpur direction. Trains are crowded, and you still need an auto to cover the last 1.5km to the hotel. Not for airport transfers.

Patna City Bus (BRTS / regular) From ₹15 50 min

Buses are cheap but don’t stop right outside the terminal. Walk to the main road, and take any bus numbered 201–210 heading towards Gandhi Maidan. Get off at Rajendra Nagar, then an auto-rickshaw (₹40) to Hotel Chanakya.

Prepaid Airport Taxi From ₹400 30 min

Buy the coupon from the prepaid booth inside the terminal before you step out. Non-AC Ambassadors run cheaper than sedans, and they’re fine for the short trip to City Centre.
