Things to Do in Neubrandenburg

A wide lakeside walk with benches, a small beach area, and public art installations. Connects the city centre to the nature reserve.

💡 Walk to the end of the promenade just before sunset – you'll get the reflection of the Konzertkirche spire in the water, and the crowds thin out completely.

A landscaped park around the Tollensesee lake, with walking trails, a children's play area, and open-air stages. Good for a picnic away from traffic.

💡 Take the path along the eastern shore past the rose garden – fewer people, and you can watch swans from the wooden jetty at the south end.

A largely intact medieval city wall with four brick gates: Stargarder Tor, Treptower Tor, Friedländer Tor and Neues Tor. You can walk the entire circuit.

💡 Start at the Stargarder Tor and follow the wall anti-clockwise: the stretch past the Kulturpark is quieter and gives you the best view of the brickwork.

A 13th-century brick Gothic church, now used as a concert hall with striking acoustics and a spacious interior free of pews.

Housed in the Stargarder Tor, this museum covers regional history, from prehistoric finds to the city's GDR years. Entry is €3.50 for adults.
