Things to Do in Montesilvano

18th-century parish church with a sober white facade and a striking baroque interior. Features a wooden crucifix from 1600 and marble altar. Quiet and rarely crowded.

💡 Check the side chapel on the left for the fresco fragments uncovered during restoration. Entry is free, but donations welcome. Open mornings only on weekdays.

A short, historic drainage canal and stone bridge built by Jesuit monks in the 16th century. Now a peaceful green corridor with old plane trees and a path along the water. Good spot for photos.

💡 Combine with a walk on the Lungomare. The canal mouth at the beach has a small colony of yellow-legged gulls. Visit in early morning for light through the trees.

A 6km seaside promenade stretching from the marina to the pine forest. Flat paved path with benches, cycle lanes, and direct beach access. Great for walking, jogging, or cycling.

💡 Walk south at sunset toward the Fosso Gesuiti canal for views of the Trabocchi coast silhouettes. Free public toilets near Piazza Giovanni Paolo II.

Protected coastal pine forest between Montesilvano and Pescara. Trails wind through umbrella pines and past dunes. Quiet spot for birdwatching or a picnic. No facilities.

💡 Enter from Viale San Francesco. Bring water and insect repellent in summer. The trail to the beach is unmarked but easy to follow. Less busy than the main seafront.

Small maritime museum inside a former fishing cooperative building. Exhibits on local fishing techniques, boat models, and a collection of seashells. Covers the Adriatic's maritime history.

💡 Entry costs €2.50 for adults, free under 12. Allow 30 minutes. The museum has a small terrace with good harbour views. Closed Monday and Tuesday in winter.
