Getting Around Monastir
To reach the station from the airport, take a short taxi to Monastir city centre (about 8 TND). The Sahel Metro is a tram-like line running along the coast. Get off at 'Skanes' station—your apartment is a 5-min walk. Buy a rechargeable card at the station booth.
Not all louages go directly to the hotel—ask for 'Skanes plage'. You'll share with locals, but it's safe and cheap. Carry small change.
From the airport, walk 10 mins to the main road to flag a louage (shared long-distance minibus) or a local bus marked 'Skanes'. The louage stops at Monastir bus station—then take a local bus or walk 20 mins to the seafront. Buses are cash only, buy ticket from driver.
Fix the fare before you get in—drivers often quote double. 20 TND is the absolute max from airport to Skanes zone hotels.
The hotel is a 10-minute walk from Skanes station. Trains can be crowded in summer, but they're reliable and cheap.
Agree the fare before getting in. Official yellow taxis have a meter but drivers often quote a flat rate for airport runs. Count out exact change in small notes.
