Getting Around Massa Marittima
Buy ticket at the bus station tabaccheria or via app – driver doesn't sell cash. Get off at Massa Marittima terminal, then call the resort (3 km out) for a free pick-up. Last bus back from Florence at 18:30 on weekends.
Book your return from the resort a day ahead – weekend waits can stretch to 45 minutes. The driver will meet you outside arrivals with a name board. Tip €5-10 for help with luggage.
Take the fast regional train to Follonica (1h40, avoid the slower local). From there taxi to resort costs €35 and runs 25 mins. Cheaper option: walk 10 mins to Follonica bus stop, catch Tiemme Bus 001 (€2.50, 30 min) to Massa, then resort pick-up.
Resort has free parking. The SS1 Aurelia is the main road – toll-free, but watch for speed cameras near Follonica. Pick up a physical map at the airport; phone signal drops for 10 km on the coastal road.
