Things to Do in Lytham St Annes

A community-run exhibition space in a former church, showcasing local art, photography, and historical displays about Lytham St Annes. Rotating exhibitions change every few weeks.

💡 Pop in on a rainy afternoon — the volunteers are friendly and knowledgeable, often sharing stories about the town that aren't in the guidebooks. They also sell secondhand local history books for a pound or two.

A compact Victorian park with manicured flowerbeds, a bandstand, a small pond, and shaded benches. Good for a quiet read or a picnic away from the sea breeze.

💡 On Sunday afternoons from June to August, brass bands play at the bandstand — check the noticeboard at the main entrance for schedules. The public toilets here are cleaner than those on the seafront.

💡 Walk beyond the main boathouse to the quieter southern end where herons and grebes often feed. The café at the northern end does decent but overpriced tea; bring a flask instead.

💡 Arrive just before sunset and walk to the far end. The viewing platform there catches the light beautifully, and you can often see seals bobbing near the end of the pier in calm weather.

A restored 19th-century windmill on Lytham Green, now containing a local history museum with exhibits on milling and the town's past. Entry is free but a small donation is suggested.

💡 Go on a weekday afternoon when it's quietest. Check the tide times from the nearby lifeboat station board — at low tide the beach stretches out for miles.
