Things to Do in Ludwigsburg

The city's main cultural venue often hosts free rotating exhibitions in its foyer and side galleries. Past shows have included local art, photography, and historical displays. The building itself is modern and airy.

The palace's sprawling Baroque grounds are free to enter. Walk the symmetrical parterres, the long avenues of linden trees, and the large lake. The Fairy Tale Garden inside costs extra, but the main gardens cost nothing.

💡 Go early on a weekday to avoid crowds. The north end near the lake has quiet benches with views of the palace facade.

The central square with the old town hall, a fountain, and a weekly market. The baroque-style Rathaus facade is worth a look, and the square itself is a free meeting point with benches and shade.

A small, elegant hunting lodge set in its own park. Built in the 18th century, it houses a modest collection of porcelain and furniture. Entry is €4 for adults, free for under-18s.
