Things to Do in Lingen (Ems)

16th-century Gothic town hall in the market square. The exterior is the main draw; you can enter the ground floor for free during opening hours to see the vaulted ceiling and painted murals.

💡 Stand at the back of the building to get a photo of the half-timbered gable without crowds. The tourist info inside has free maps.

A paved walking and cycling path along the River Ems starting from the city centre. Stretches for about 8 km through meadows and wetlands. No entry fee, just the path and view.

💡 Start at the Mühlentor bridge and head north—you'll pass the watermill ruins within 10 minutes. Best in late afternoon light.

Contemporary art gallery showing rotating exhibitions of painting, sculpture, and multimedia. Regular admission is around €5, but entry is free every first Sunday of the month.
