Getting Around L'Aquila
Take a regional train (not the high-speed Frecce) heading south via Sulmona. From the station it's a 15-minute walk up an incline to the hotel, or a €5 taxi ride. For FCO, take the Leonardo Express to Termini (€14, 30 mins) then switch.
Use a fixed-price service like TaxiFareFinder or pre-book via the hotel. Avoid airport touts; confirm the fare includes tolls on the A24 motorway.
Buy tickets online or at the airport's TUA desk (ground floor). The bus drops you near the centre; from Piazza del Duomo it's a 10-minute flat walk to the hotel on Via XX Settembre.
If walking, cut through the pedestrianised Corso Vittorio Emanuele to avoid the main road. The hotel is just off the Corso near the medieval gate. It's downhill from the station, so the walk is easier than the return.
