Things to Do in Korinthos

A covered market building in the centre of town with stalls selling fresh fish, meat, olives, herbs, and local produce. The atmosphere is lively, not touristy. You can buy snacks for a couple of euros.

💡 Best on Saturday mornings when farmers from the surrounding villages bring in seasonal fruit and vegetables. The grilled octopus from the fish stalls makes a cheap lunch.

A free public viewing platform on the old bridge over the Corinth Canal, 80 metres above the water. You can watch ships pass through the narrow cut and see the vertical limestone walls. No entry fee.

💡 Walk to the smaller pedestrian bridge just south of the main road bridge. It's quieter and gives a better angle for photos of the canal slicing through the rock.

A steep but free hiking trail from the Corinth Canal area up to the Palamidi Castle (entry to the castle itself costs €4). The path is rocky and unmarked but gives panoramic views of the gulf and town. The hike itself is free and takes about 40 minut

💡 Wear sturdy shoes and take water. The trail starts behind the old railway station near the canal. Best done in late afternoon for the sunset colours over the water.

The extensive ruins of ancient Corinth, including the Temple of Apollo and the remains of Roman forums, baths, and shops. The site is large and takes at least an hour to explore. Entry fee is low (around €8 for adults, half that in winter).

💡 Go early in the morning before the tour buses arrive around 10am. The light is better for photos and you'll have the place nearly to yourself.

Small museum adjacent to the ancient site, housing mosaics, pottery, and statues found during excavations. The exhibits are well-labelled in English and Greek. Entry is part of the archaeological site ticket (€8 total) or €3 alone.

💡 The mosaic floor in the main hall is the highlight. Come here first to understand the site layout before wandering the ruins. Allow 45 minutes.
