Things to Do in Kobuleti

A long, shingle-and-sand stretch along the Black Sea. Kites and swimmers in summer, quiet walks off-season. Minimal facilities so bring a towel and some water.

💡 Head north of the pier for quieter spots. The water gets deeper quickly—good for swimming but keep an eye on kids.

A modest green space with old trees, benches, a children's playground and a few food kiosks. Locals play chess under the pines. It's not manicured but it's a reliable place to sit out the heat of the day.

💡 Best in late afternoon when the shade is long. The kiosk near the fountain sells good chacha and cold beer.

A coastal wetland and marshland reserve, home to migratory birds and rare plants. Flat wooden boardwalks loop through reeds and lagoons. Entry is free, but parking costs a few lari.

💡 Come at dawn or dusk for birdwatching. Mosquitoes can be thick in summer—use repellent.

A faded but striking mosaic on the wall of the old bus station—geometric patterns and workers' figures typical of late Soviet public art. Not signposted, but easy to spot if you're walking along Chavchavadze Street.

💡 Take your own photo from across the street to include the whole composition. The bus station is still active so watch for traffic.

A small museum inside a Soviet-era building. Displays local artefacts from the Colchian, Roman and Byzantine periods—pottery, coins, tools. Labels are in Georgian and basic English.

💡 Free entry, but a small donation (2–5 lari) is appreciated. Ask the caretaker to show you the Roman mosaic fragment in the back room.
