Getting Around Kars

Kars City Bus (to/from centre) From 10-15 TL 30 min

Bus to Ani leaves from the otogar (bus station) – buy a return ticket, as taxis back are pricey. Temel is a 10-minute walk from the otogar.

Doğu Ekspresi (Eastern Express) From 120-200 TL (one way, seat) 1440 min

Book a sleeping compartment weeks ahead – it sells out fast. The scenery through eastern Anatolia is the main draw. Walk to the station from Temel in 20 minutes or take a taxi for 20 TL.

Kars Airport Taxi From 150-200 TL 15 min

Fix the fare before you get in. Most drivers speak limited English; have your hotel address written in Turkish.

Airport Shuttle (Havaş) From 30-50 TL 20 min

The Havaş stop is a 5-minute walk from Temel Hotel on Atatürk Caddesi. Check schedules online before relying on it for early departures.
