Sit on the left side for the best river views and the famous wooden viaduct. Trains are often delayed by 30–60 minutes. Tickets are sold only at the station – arrive 20 mins before departure.
From the airport take the SRTET Airport Rail Link to Phaya Thai, then BTS to Mo Chit – then it's a 5-min walk to the bus terminal. Last bus from Kanchanaburi back is around 7:30 PM.
Negotiate at the official taxi stand on level 1 – insist on meter plus 50 THB airport surcharge; you'll pay less than the fixed-rate counters.
