Restored 1908 building with a grand facade and a small free museum inside. Displays cover local politics, architecture, and the gold rush era. The main hall’s ceiling is painted with gold leaf.

💡 Stop at the Palace Hotel beer garden for a cheap pot of beer—it’s the oldest pub in town and the staff will tell you the mining gossip. Not recommended after midnight on weekends.

200-hectare restored bushland with walking trails, picnic tables, and bird hides. You’ll see red-tailed black cockatoos and kangaroos if you walk quietly. Kept in natural state—no fancy gardens.
