Getting Around Gwalior

Gwalior City Bus (Route 1/3) From ₹10 30 min

Buses are basic and often crowded. If you're at the bus stand, just ask for 'Central Park' and locals will point you the right one. No direct bus from the airport – you must take a taxi or auto from there.

Ola/Uber Auto Rickshaw From ₹200 25 min

Ola and Uber work in Gwalior but drivers often cancel short airport trips – a prepaid auto at the airport is more reliable. For local hops, haggle directly: half the first price offered is a fair deal.

Gwalior Junction to City Shuttle From ₹5 45 min

If arriving by train, skip the rush-hour queue for autos. Walk out to the main road (Maharaj Bada direction) and negotiate an auto from there – should be ₹50-100. The hotel is a 10-min auto ride from the station.

Prepaid Airport Taxi From ₹500 20 min

Use the prepaid counter just outside arrivals. Agreeing a fare with a freelance driver often costs more. Tip ₹50-100 if the driver helps with bags.
