Weekly open-air market along Rua Padre João Santos. Stalls sell fruit, vegetables, cheese, handicrafts and household goods. Very lively.

Small museum inside the old convent complex, covering local religious history and the life of Brazil's first saint, Frei Galvão. Modest but well curated.

Massive neogothic church dedicated to the city's patron saint. Interior has stained-glass windows and a tall altar. Often quiet during weekday mornings.

💡 Climb the tower for city views (small fee, around 2 BRL). Best light at 4pm.

Historic train station building from the early 1900s, no longer active. Preserved facade with original tiles. Now houses a small cultural centre.

💡 Photographers come here for the symmetry and peeling paint. Enter through the side door to see an old waiting room.

Main square with benches, mature trees and a fountain. Centre point for local life; free events sometimes happen on weekends.

💡 Grab a pastel from the cart by the cathedral side at lunchtime—cheap and freshly fried.
