Getting Around Gorizia
Get a multi-ride card (€12 for 10 rides) at the station tabacchi. The bus stops directly on the square—cross Corso Italia to reach the B&B.
Buy a round-trip ticket at the station bar; drivers don't give change. Validates cross-border without extra fare.
This bus crosses the border within 2 minutes—keep your passport handy, but there's no routine check. Get off at 'Nova Gorica AP' stop for the casino district. Return ticket is €1.50; but you can also pay in euros or Slovenian Tolar equivalent (€1.50 accepted on board).
Trains run on time. Sit on the left side for views of the Carso plateau. Validate your ticket at the platform machine—inspectors are strict.
Book 24 hours ahead for a fixed rate. The drive is via A4 motorway—smooth and fast. Cash only, so have €60 handy.
