Buy a round-trip ticket at the station bar; drivers don't give change. Validates cross-border without extra fare.

APV bus line 51 From €1.50 15 min

This bus crosses the border within 2 minutes—keep your passport handy, but there's no routine check. Get off at 'Nova Gorica AP' stop for the casino district. Return ticket is €1.50; but you can also pay in euros or Slovenian Tolar equivalent (€1.50 accepted on board).

Friuli Venezia Giulia Regional Train From €4.50 30 min

Trains run on time. Sit on the left side for views of the Carso plateau. Validate your ticket at the platform machine—inspectors are strict.

Radio Taxi Gorizia From €55 30 min

Book 24 hours ahead for a fixed rate. The drive is via A4 motorway—smooth and fast. Cash only, so have €60 handy.

Trenitalia regional train From €7.50 45 min

Buy tickets from the airport's Trenitalia machine before descending to platform. Validate your ticket in the yellow box on the platform; fines are €50 for forgetting. The train is a direct, scenic route through the Carso plateau.
