Getting Around Gebze

Gebze-Şehir Hatları Bus 400 From 35 TL 50 min

Buy an Istanbulkart from the airport kiosk (20 TL) and top up; it works on this bus. Get off at 'Gebze Terminal' stop, then walk east on Ankara Caddesi for about 800m — the dorm is a grey building opposite the mosque.

Marmaray (Gebze direction) From 40 TL (Havaist 30 TL + train 10 TL) 70 min

For a cheaper combo: from airport, take Havaist bus HW-1 to Pendik (30 min, 30 TL), then Marmaray east to Gebze. Exit Gebze station north side, walk up Yavuz Sultan Selim Cd, then right on Ankara Cd — 600m total.

Gebze Taxi From 400-500 TL 30 min

Use the BiTaksi app to avoid inflated fares; confirm the meter is running before starting. The dorm is near Gebze city centre, so ask the driver to drop you at the main entrance on Ankara Caddesi.

Gebze Metro (No direct line exists — use tram-bus combo) From 55 TL 100 min

This only makes sense if you're already in Istanbul's Asian side. Take M4 from airport to 'Ayrılık Çeşmesi' (45 mins, ~15 TL), transfer to Marmaray to Gebze (25 mins, 10 TL), then short taxi. But the direct bus from airport is simpler.
