Getting Around Galle
Book via PickMe or Uber for fixed rates (around 12,000 LKR). Avoid touts at arrivals; pre-pay online for a smoother drop-off at the hotel gate.
For best sea views, sit on the right side heading south. Buy a 2nd class ticket for guaranteed seat booking. From Galle station, it’s a 15-minute walk or tuk-tuk (200 LKR) to Fort Fifty.
Agree the fare before getting in—local rides around the fort cost no more than 300 LKR. Ask the driver to go via Lighthouse Street for a scenic shortcut to the hotel.
Take bus #187 (red) from the airport to Galle. Get off at Galle Clock Tower, then walk 10 minutes to Fort Fifty through the old gate. Keep small change—buses don't accept cards.
