A historic burial ground dating back to 1564, given to the city by Mary Queen of Scots. Contains ornate tombstones and a tranquil walled garden.

💡 Look for the carved skulls and crossbones on the eastern tombstones — they're memento mori symbols, not pirate stuff. Quietest at lunchtime.

💡 Permanent collection is free; special exhibitions are ticketed. The building itself is worth visiting from outside — walk around all four sides.

An extinct volcanic hill offering panoramic views across the Tay estuary, the city, and the Angus hills. A short but steep walk to the top.

💡 Go at sunset for the best light over the river. Watch your step on the loose gravel path near the summit.

A sandy beach along the Tay estuary, backed by grassy dunes and the grounds of Broughty Castle. Good for walking, kite-flying, or just sitting.

🕐 Castle: Wed-Sat 10:00-16:00, Sun 12:30-16:30 (June-Oct). Grounds always open.

💡 The castle itself is free to enter — just a short climb up a spiral staircase for cracking views over to Fife. Bus 5 from city centre.
