Getting Around Dongguan
From Dongguan Railway Station, take Line 2 to ‘Dongguanzhuang’ then transfer to Line 1 toward Shuilianshan. Exit from Exit B—it’s a 8-min walk to the dormitory. No need for a taxi after.
Use Didi Chuxing app instead of hailing airport taxis—charges are 30% less and drivers know the dormitory address. Book a ‘快车’ (express) not ‘专车’ (luxury).
Get off at Nancheng, then take a 15-min taxi (15-20 CNY) to Amami Dormitory. Avoid buying tickets from touts; use the official counter.
Buy same-day tickets on 12306 app (with passport). The bus from Dongguan Railway Station to ‘Shuilianshan stop’ (line 15) drops you 200m from the dormitory. Avoid rush hour—returning dorms crammed with workers.
