Things to Do in Dalby

Stone obelisk and memorial wall listing local service personnel from both world wars. Set in a small, well-maintained garden with rose beds and a fountain. Good spot for a quiet five minutes.

💡 The memorial is floodlit at night — it looks stark and striking after dark, and you'll have the place to yourself.

Large park with full-size cricket nets, a shaded playground, barbecue shelters and a short walking loop around the lake. The lake has ducks and the occasional turtle.

💡 Pick up a pie from the bakery on Drayton Street and eat it on the bench under the fig tree near the lake — the ducks stay clear if you don't feed them bread.

Gravel path along Myall Creek through bushland. About 2.5 km loop with interpretive signs about local plants and birdlife. Occasional benches and a small bird hide.

💡 Walk it early in the morning when kangaroos come down to the creek to drink. Wear long pants — the grass can be scratchy and there are ticks after rain.

Museum on the site of the original Cobb & Co coach changing station. Displays include restored coaches, local history exhibits and a blacksmith shed.

💡 Go on a weekday morning; the volunteer blacksmith often fires up the forge around 10am and lets you try the bellows.

Open-air museum with more than 20 heritage buildings moved from surrounding farms: slab huts, a one-room schoolhouse, a church and a blacksmith shop. Self-guided walk.
