Best rooms
Request a room on the second floor facing the inner courtyard. These are furthest from any street noise and above ground level for better privacy and light. Without an elevator, this floor is a manageable climb with luggage, and the courtyard side is quieter than the road side.
Request a room on the top floor (3rd or 4th) at the back of the building, away from the main road. These rooms are quieter and have slightly better airflow.
Rooms to avoid
Avoid any room on the ground floor, especially those facing the street. Ground floor rooms are more vulnerable to street noise, dust, and passersby. Also avoid rooms near the staircase landing, as foot traffic can be audible, and the front desk area may add conversation noise.
Avoid ground-floor rooms near the reception or lobby—they pick up foot traffic and any street noise from the front entrance. Also skip rooms directly above the bar if there is one.
