Best rooms
Request a first-floor room facing the inner courtyard. These are furthest from Rue Christophe traffic and avoid any stair noise. The first floor is the lowest guest floor above ground level, giving you easy access and quiet.
Request a room on the first floor at the rear of the building, away from Route Nationale 1. The rear rooms face the interior courtyard and avoid the constant truck and moto traffic on the main road.
Rooms to avoid
Avoid rooms facing Rue Christophe directly—this is a main street through Gonaïves with motorbikes and tap-taps. Also skip any rooms near the stairwell or if there’s a bar/restaurant on ground level, ask for a room away from it.
Steer clear of any room on the ground floor, especially those facing the street. The hotel has no dedicated soundproofing, so street-level rooms get the full blast of horns, music, and exhaust from the national highway. Also avoid rooms near the entrance or reception, as staff and guests come and go all night.
