Request a room on the 3rd or 4th floor facing the inner courtyard. These are furthest from the street and lift motor noise, and the upper floors catch more light and have better air.

Request a room on the second floor (first guest floor) facing the inner courtyard or rear. The side entrance ramp leads to the lobby, and taking a higher floor reduces street-level noise. Second floor also avoids the minor lift traffic from incoming guests on the ground.

Rooms to avoid

Avoid rooms on the 1st floor overlooking the street. Street noise from L’Aquila’s narrow roads carries directly into those windows, and the 1st floor also gets foot traffic from the lobby and breakfast area.

Avoid any room on the first floor (ground) facing Via dei Sanniti – that side sees local traffic, pedestrian noise, and the side entrance buzzer. Also avoid rooms directly next to the lift shaft; with only one lift serving three floors, motor noise is noticeable on the floor above.
