Request a first-floor room at the rear side (facing the courtyard, away from Route de Diabir). These rooms are cooler, quieter, and catch the morning breeze. The exterior stairs make first-floor rooms easier to reach than the second floor, especially with luggage.

Request a room on the first floor (above ground level) at the back of the building, away from the street. First floor rooms are quieter here as the ground floor likely houses the reception and common areas, and the back side avoids any street-facing traffic noise from Ziguinchor’s main roads.

Avoid any ground-floor room facing the street (Route de Diabir). These rooms suffer from road noise, exhaust fumes, and dust from unpaved sections near Cite Keur Gorgui. Also avoid second-floor rooms directly under the roof terrace – they bake in the heat and have no insulation benefit.

Avoid ground-floor rooms (if they exist) directly off the reception or near the stairwell — these will get foot traffic noise and any early-morning lobby activity. Also avoid any room near the street side if the hostel fronts a road, as Ziguinchor’s motorbike taxis and trucks can be loud from dawn.
