Avoid ground-floor rooms (street noise and foot traffic from the entrance) and any rooms facing R.A. De Mel Mawatha directly — especially on floors 1-2, where tuk-tuks and buses are loudest. Also skip rooms near the lift shaft (usually adjacent to the stairwell) if you’re a light sleeper.

Avoid rooms on floor 1 (ground) and floor 2. Ground-floor rooms pick up street noise from Walukarama Road and lobby activity; floor 2 may have lift machinery hum or service room clatter if there is a back-of-house area. Also avoid any room facing the main road — that side gets traffic noise from Walukarama Road, a busy Colombo 03 artery with tuk-tuks and buses.
