Best rooms
Upper floor rooms at the back of the building (south side) – quieter and more private. Top floor also has the best natural light and less foot traffic overhead.
Request a room on the third or fourth floor facing the interior courtyard (away from the street). These upper floors will be quieter and benefit from less foot traffic.
Rooms to avoid
Ground-floor rooms facing the street – Rocha's main roads can get traffic noise early in the morning. Also avoid rooms near the lift shaft on any floor, as the motor hums noticeably at night.
Avoid any room on the ground floor or first floor, especially those facing the street (Rocha is a small town but the main road can have traffic noise, and ground-floor rooms may also hear the reception or breakfast area). Also skip rooms near the stairwell or service lift if you're a light sleeper.
