Best rooms
Request a room on the third or fourth floor (Aarhof has a total of four floors) as these tend to be the most central and thus likely to have the best access to amenities such as the lift. Additionally, these floors are away from the ground floor where street noise from the main road could be more pronounced.
Request an even-numbered room on the upper floors (3rd floor or above) facing the rear courtyard. These rooms avoid the traffic noise from Niklaus Konrad-Strasse and offer a quieter night's sleep. The higher you go, the less street hum you'll get from the tram and buses on the main road.
Rooms to avoid
Rooms near the service entrance on the ground floor may experience more noise from deliveries and staff activity.
Avoid odd-numbered rooms on the lower floors (1st and 2nd) facing the street. The road is a through route, and rooms directly above the entrance entrance can pick up noise from the front door and the pavement cafe (if present). Also skip rooms near the lift shaft on any floor – the clatter of the old elevator can be audible.
