Things to Do in Colwyn Bay

A wide sandy beach with a restored Victorian pier and a long promenade. Good for walks, swimming, or just watching the tide. The beach has Blue Flag status most years.

💡 Head to the Rhos-on-Sea end near the paddling pool if you've got kids—quieter than the main stretch and has a small café.

A network of woodland paths, streams and small valleys. Part of a larger ancient woodland area. Good for a short hike or dog walk without leaving town.

💡 Park at the nature reserve car park off Nant-y-Glyn Road—free and leads straight to the best bluebell spots in May.

A hilltop zoo with native and exotic animals, including snow leopards and chimpanzees. Conservation-focused with decent views over the bay. Entry is about £12 for adults—not free, but cheaper than many UK zoos.

💡 Visit on a weekday afternoon when crowds thin out; the sea lion show is at 2pm and often quieter then.

A Victorian pier now largely restored, with a café, deckchairs and fishing permits. It's free to walk out and enjoy the sea air. The pier head offers panoramic views of the bay and Great Orme.

A Grade II listed Anglican church built in the late 19th century. Notable for its interior woodwork and stained glass. Usually open for quiet visits.
