Getting Around Coimbatore

Coimbatore – Mettupalayam passenger (local train) From ₹10 15 min

Only useful if you're heading west toward Podanur/Palakkad. Heritage Inn is literally opposite the main station entrance. Don't rely on train for city commute – buses or auto-rickshaws are better.

Airport – Singanallur – Town Hall bus route From ₹20 45 min

Catch bus A1 or A5 from airport. Get off at Town Hall. Walk east on Sathyamangalam Road for 5 mins; hotel is opposite the railway station. Keep ₹20–₹30 in coins for conductor. Buses are packed in peak hours (8–10 AM, 5–7 PM).

Shared auto-rickshaw (city route) From ₹30 per person (shared) 20 min

Flag down a shared auto from the road – don't take a reserved one at the stand. Tell driver 'Gandhipuram' and pay ₹30–₹40. For private hire (single person), negotiate to ₹100–₹150. Always fix price before getting in.

Prepaid taxi counter at airport From ₹500 30 min
