Things to Do in Cēsis

Large landscaped park winding down to a lake and stream. Has walking paths, a small waterfall, and an open-air stage. Locals come here to relax or jog.

💡 Follow the path to the wooden bridge by the millpond—it's quiet and good for photos.

13th-century Lutheran church with a distinctive spire. Plain interior but impressive vaulted ceilings. The tower climb costs €2, but the nave is free. Great acoustic for choir concerts.

💡 Check the notice board for free evening concerts in summer. The churchyard has a bench with a good view of the castle.

Ruins of a 13th-century Livonian Order castle, plus a newer manor house with museum exhibits. The grounds and outer walls are free; the museum and tower cost a small fee (around €4). Climb the tower for views over the town.
